Our mini road trip getaway to Palm Springs, Ca!🚗 🌴

Hey! I hope everyone is doing well ❤ Took myself & my boys to a mini getaway before summer is over & we had a really good time minus the weather ,lol!😓 Let me tell you…it was I believe 109 degrees or more at some point. Its been a minute since I’ve been in that type of weather so I was struggling haha 😂but I always want to make it a point to make it fun for my kids. I like to make the best of any situation.

I ended up booking us at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas resort https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/palm-springs-rancho-las-palmas?utm_campaign=omni_ohr_psprst_all_x_br_prop_palm+springs_en_exact_us&utm_content=58700005760068001&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_term=43700052473369338&gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3fietO318QIVfBatBh3J_gM5EAAYASAAEgLRyvD_BwE all of us loved it! It was so much fun & the resort is actually very big. The family pool area is amazing , they have a lazy river , water splash zone, slides & a family pool which only goes up to 4 ft so it’s perfect for families & smaller kids. FYI the water is warm not cold at all. They also have an adult pool that goes up to 8ft just across from the family area which is pretty cool. Right now they try to keep capacity limited due to Covid, so they give out wrist bands for morning part of the day and for afternoon part. Since we went and it wasn’t overly busy the front desk person said we would be able to go all day the days we were there so it worked out. They also do cleaning of the pools twice a day so they close for an hour (everyone has to leave but can come back afterwards). There is a grill right next to the family area which is pretty good and you can order your food and they will bring it to you. Obviously it is a bit pricey but what resort wouldn’t be? Right ? They also have a Cafe which is sort of like a Starbucks and there drinks are very good & they have a restaurant as well. They definitely make it easy to not leave the resort!😉 From home I did bring breakfast muffins for us and snacks; healthy ones and not healthy lol. I also brought a lot of drinks; water , ice teas & some coke zeros for me. They also had an ice machine downstairs from our hotel area so that worked perfect so we had cold drinks the whole time. The room had a balcony , and the size was perfect for me and my boys. My oldest is 16 so he slept on the sofa bed and he said it was fine and comfortable. My youngest who is 9 slept on the king size bed with me and we had more than enough room👍🏽 Quick question … who else has issues with getting their teens to take pictures ? My oldest is usually ok with pics but on this trip he just wasn’t having it 😑 I think he just wasn’t good with the weather but while he was in the water he was smiling and laughing and having a good ol’ time. These teenage years are no joke, but phew at least I was able to sneak some videos and pics..

Front of Resort

Overall we had so much fun😎 I am so grateful I was able to take this mini getaway & make memories with my boys .. the lazy river & slide was our favorite part! We definitely want to come back but not during the middle or end of summer. My kids already made that clear to me, lol!

We did end up going to downtown when we got there because I wanted to check out this brunch place that I saw on TikTok. I don’t know about anyone else but does TikTok make you want to check out food places or what ?! 😂 So we went to Wilma + Frieda’s Cafe and it was delicious! Definitely go check this place out if you can. The Blackberry French toast was the best thing we ordered, but my youngest loved the churro waffle. After we ate I heard about a Marilyn Monroe statue that they made that was near by, it was so hot but I wanted to check out & WOW it was huge and so beautiful! I am a big fan if Marilyn Monroe I love her movies & she was definitely a beauty icon. We took some amazing pictures and I was honestly glad we checked it out, I have a love for the old Hollywood era it just is so iconic to me.

The day we headed back home we ended up checking out another restaurant; El Patio. This one was a Mexican restaurant it is so cute the whole vibe was very cool, I loved the decor! I also thought the food was delicious and pretty close to authentic. I would 100% go back, my boys loved it also. 👌🏽

Thanks for stopping by and reading🤍 Feel free to comment below if you have checked this resort out or any of these restaurants or if you have any questions😊

Summer 2021 ! Vacation time ! Making memories with my boys… 🚘🌞

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well & enjoying their summer so far.

We went on our first summer vacation last week & we had so much fun ! We stayed 4 nights in Santa Barbara, CA & we visited the cities around as well. We stayed at the Best Western Inn Santa Barbara, the room was very nice & staff was accommodating. The pool & jacuzzi were okay in size, when we arrived it looked very busy and crowded but overall it was fine. They even had washer and dryer to wash clothing if you needed too. Our suite had a fully stocked kitchen so you could cook and a fridge , coffee maker, microwave, & table to eat at. We did make breakfast every morning so we could save some money and we brought a lot of snacks which worked really well.

Traffic was a little heavy so we ended up going to downtown Santa Barbara the first day we arrived & just ate dinner and stayed local. We walked around , they have a lot of shops and food places to check out. We tried this gelato place that was so delicious😋 it was called Tondi Gelato and I highly recommend it!!

This romper is one of my favorite pieces & these Target sandals are amazing! Links… https://shopstyle.it/l/btD8Z (romper) https://shopstyle.it/l/bu4rl ( sandals)
My boys ❤ ; (right) My youngest son’s Jaws graphic tee from Target (https://shopstyle.it/l/bvJOT) is super cute , he loved it!

The next day we ended up driving to Solvang which was about 1 hour or so away , and this place is so cute! The small downside was it was extremely hot , lol it was 97 degrees! It did get a bit cooler through out the day but we made it and I loved it and my boys really liked it as well. It is much bigger than I thought… you can definitely spend the whole day there. They have these pancakes that we were told were so good but we ended up forgetting to go back and getting those so we bought their famous butter cookies which are 👌🏽 We also rented these Moke electric cars to drive around the town and they were so much fun! Its $49 an hour and seats 4 people and has blue tooth to play your music while your driving around town. If you go you definitely have to rent these😉

The following day we visited San Luis Obispo. I found they had so many shops , food and even bars. I think they have a lot of spots for college kids, but I still enjoyed it and my kids did as well. We checked out the bubblegum alley which was gross but also cool, lol. Its always nice to check out new places and have those memories. I always remind my kids that the memories and experience are so important and if you dont try or go new places you wont know if you like it. We shopped this super cute boutique and I found the cutest romper and the prices weren’t too bad. I love to go into these shops because they have items that you don’t find in the bigger more popular stores. We also ate at this Italian restaurant that was AMAZING it was called Giuseppe’s Cucina Rustica I definitely would recommend this place 100%! We were going to go to Pismo Beach but it was super foggy that day so we headed home.

This top from Aerie is so soft and comfortable (https://shopstyle.it/l/bvE3O)

The rest of the trip we hung out by the pool & jacuzzi & had so much fun. We also ended our last night going to dinner at this seafood place called The Drunken Crab ( similar to The Boiling Crab) in downtown Santa Barbara and it was so yummy! Another place I would recommend 😁👍🏽

I feel blessed and happy I was able to take my boys on this trip & that we were able to get a way for a bit and enjoy time together. We have more plans for this summer so hopefully I will be posting more on my blog.

Prayer🙏🏽…faith & building a relationship with God

Do you have a hard time with your faith & with prayer?

This isn’t going to be a big religious post in anyway… I don’t like to push religion down anyone’s throat. Just want to share what has helped me on my journey & hopefully it can possibly help someone who is new to getting closer to God.

Really quick I was baptized Catholic & went to church when I was small, but I honestly didn’t start my relationship with God until about 7 years ago. I was in a dark place & a friend invited me to church & that was the beginning…I am grateful for that! My mom is a huge believer in God, so in the back of my mind that was always there but I think when your in middle school & high school if your not going to church or in groups it doesn’t stick or you tend to just go along with your group of friends or what not. I sometimes on certain occasions go with my mom to mass at a Catholic church when she asks me to go, but for the most part I now attend a Christian church.

Do you feel like you have to go to church every week to stay close to God? This is a good question.. I think if for some urgent reason you can’t make it sometimes its understandable, but I believe that the reason it is important to go in person is to come together with other people who believe just like you. I think being connected to a good church is very beneficial in a lot of different way’s; some have groups that can help with any issues your facing, classes, activities, and you can even donate items or your time. I would say if you can find a church that you love to attend get involved & go as much as you can.😉

This one might be a tough one to hear but you have to really read the bible…I would go to maybe the book store and look around for a bible that suits you or even browse Amazon for a good one. I originally bought a regular bible & I wrote in it & highlighted so much and tagged verses so I could go back to them at a later time. After a while I wanted a bible journal so I found this one (below) a couple years ago & I love it. If you haven’t read much of the bible I would start reading either Genesis, Proverbs or Psalm that is my opinion. You can also Pinterest or Google “where should I start reading the bible” but everyone has different opinions. I would say try to read a little every day or every other day, just make time even if its for a little bit and if you can write down verses that pop out to you on little index cards and carry them with you.

I bought some gel pens for my bible journal a few years back… if you decide to get one and need some gel pens these are a good price & have good reviews on Amazon;

My bible journal & gel pens

Try to either listen to podcast or watch church services online any time you have some free time & I always say if something a pastor says or a verse he is talking about speaks directly to you write it down if you can. I have a few favorite pastors that I follow; Steven Furtick (Elevation Church), Levi Lusko (Fresh Life Church),Greg Laurie (Harvest Church), & Real Talk Kim ( Limitless Church ). Go check them out trust me they are so wise & amazing. I heard this but not sure if it is true, research says it can take the human mind about 7-20 times to hear something in order to remember it.😲 Crazy lol… so you have to really be intentional about reading God’s word.

Try to build a relationship with people who are older, wiser or just even more mature in their faith. Talk to them & have conversations maybe they can help you realize things that you weren’t aware of, that has really helped me a lot. If you can trust them talk to them about what your dealing with & you can even ask them to pray for you as well; two is better than one! (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Last but not least pray, pray & pray about everything! There is no right or wrong in how you pray just do it & the thing is God knows exactly what your thinking and where your heart is anyways. You can pray whenever; just waking up or even on your drive to work, at night… whenever you need too. God knows where you are in life & what your going through he is never surprised. God is good & only wants the best for your life but you have to really believe that no matter what comes. There is something our Pastor always says; God answers prayers in 3 ways; YES, NO & NOT NOW. If its a NO believe that he has something way bigger and greater around the corner, but you don’t realize it at the time because we are human & don’t understand how powerful God really is. We don’t see the whole picture because we are either struggling, sad, or upset.

To be honest God has not let me down since I’ve been following him in fact he has protected me from so much. I’ve had moments where I wasn’t sure what to believe just like everyone else or if there was light at the end of the tunnel. I have wondered certain things & still haven’t received answers as of yet, which I am finally okay with. For sure & no doubt about it he has given me so much strength & courage that people have asked me how are you still standing after everything you have gone through? How are you getting up everyday? GOD. He see’s the real us… I don’t lose sleep at night, my conscience is clear & I have a bold strong faith that cant be shaken.

REMEMBER NOTHING and NO ONE can take your blessings away & what God has set aside for you is for you period!

Thanks for reading🤍& comment below any tips you may have if you have been building a relationship with God or if your on your journey.

Stages of betrayal in a relationship/marriage…

This post is going to be a bit deeper than my other’s. I am not an expert but I wanted to come & share a bit of what I think the stages and feelings of betrayal are speaking from experience. I won’t go into it in too much detail out of respect for my son’s & I do agree we need to share our stories but also tread lightly as you don’t want to bash the other person even if they caused the harm or did the damage. When you share children and are still legally married and had a life together at some point it can be a bit touchy. It has taken me some time to go through all the stages, I am doing so much better thank God, he deserves the credit + all the self care/love that I’ve done. Don’t get discouraged if this has happened to you recently… healing is NOT an overnight process, and I am still doing the work. If it’s possible for me to help someone else that is going through or will go through betrayal I would hope this post is helpful & beneficial. 🤍 Remember your never alone and there are so many outlets that you can use.

  1. SHOCK – This is one is the first feelings/ emotions… some of us are taken completely by surprise. Other’s may have had a gut feeling something was off but you still didn’t have the proof. Deep down your hoping it isn’t true, but what I can say is from experience trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right then most likely it isn’t (unfortunately) but look into it or talk to your partner depending on your relationship you will know how to bring it up. Always remember the truth always comes out… like that one quote says “What’s done in the darkness always comes to light”. Your even more so in shock when you have given your heart, trust and loyalty to someone & your thinking what is going on & what happened?
  2. ANGER– This comes shortly after if not along with shock. One thing about anger is it can really keep you stuck & it can make you bitter. I would say make sure your handling this part with caution & with wisdom. It can make you feel like your going crazy but your not! Trust me it is completely normal to feel very angry. Anger is a healthy normal emotion, but just don’t let it get the best of you or get in the way of you living your life & your healing process.
  3. HURT– So the pain that comes with betrayal is so agonizing & to be honest its hard to explain. I think its one of those pain’s that can only be understood once you go through it, I definitely wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It can really knock you down if you let it. Remember to let those emotions out in a healthy way, if you need to cry, do it. For me it’s strange because I am an emotional person, but I don’t like to let people see me cry. I think my kids have seen me cry probably less than 5 times and they are 16 and 9.. crazy right!? Recently a good friend of mine said you need to let it out and cry it out sometimes, but just keep moving forward. I really appreciated that advice because sometimes we think crying=weakness but it’s the opposite actually. In the bible it says Jesus wept.. so what does that tell you? Even the most high “wept” so you can too.
  4. EMBARRASSED/SHAME– This emotion can also be very difficult to endure since you start feeling ashamed or even insecure. What are people going to think? Was it me? What I want to put out there is it’s never your fault when someone betrays you! In my opinion you cannot control someone else’s action’s or behaviors, I believe it has to do 100% with someone’s character & morals. If you have given 100% + more to someone & just because you argue or don’t see eye to eye (as all couples do… no relationship is perfect and no two people are perfect) that doesn’t ever make it ok to betray them. Remind yourself of all your qualities write them down & read them out loud & remember who you are. ✨

A normal healthy minded person will not understand the concept of hurting someone they love no matter what they get out of it, remember LOVE is a moral act. It is very hard to hear this, but cheating is never an accident it is a choice. As humans we can be selfish of course, YES mistakes can happen… but a pattern & a mistake are two different things in my opinion, so make sure you aware of that. Some people are really truly sorry & want to do right and actually put in the work to make the appropriate changes to show you they won’t repeat the cycle. Not just for a little bit to get you back, but real long term growth. Actions speak louder than words period. Other times they are just sorry they got caught & they come back due to ego. They don’t want you to find better or move forward because they know you can & eventually will…especially if you have been honest, faithful & loving to that person. Who would want to lose someone like that, right?

I know so many women who say I will never forgive or go back to someone who cheated, but you really don’t know how it will play out unless it has happened to you. To be honest I really think it has to do with the person (who he/she is deep down inside) who cheated and your relationship as a whole to see if you can forgive and move forward, especially if you are married. I’ve seen certain marriages come back from infidelity, but there has to be a lot of work put into the marriage. I never say just leave a marriage, but God wouldn’t want you to be hurt by someone over and over & in a toxic situation. That is why God wants us all to be healthy and whole before we find someone to share our lives with so that we are in healthy loving marriage’s.

Don’t ever think if you leave someone its the end , its just the beginning! Not everyone is the same, their are good people out there. Focus on yourself, heal, grow and last but not least GLOW! God has your back & when the time is right and your ready & healed before you know it someone special who see’s the amazing woman or man, lol you are will be right in front of you. 🤗👑

Thanks for reading & visiting my blog 🤍 Comment below what helped you get through a betrayal if you have gone through it.

Also I wanted to share this devotional/book I bought & it has helped me a lot ;

Seasons of Life

When we think of the phrase “Seasons of life” we may think of the word CHANGES which maybe either a positive or negative word for some depending on where you are in your life. It is very important to remember that without change we cannot grow! We all have a sense of fear when life doesn’t go the way we planned it. This is especially true if your a more structured person who loves to have everything planned out. As one of these people ( lol ) who loves a schedule and doesn’t really love change, I have come to realize this is possibly the most uncomfortable time but the best space to grow, set more goals, push through & come out stronger. Every time you look back on your life and see what you have gone through and overcame you start to feel a sense of strength with is very powerful. As a woman we should feel powerful no matter our circumstance whether we are married or single with or without kids pretty much in any situation. When we push through every obstacle you definitely start to have a little more faith in yourself and in your future. On the flip side it can sound or be a little depressing if your saying “my season is the worst , I’ve been struggling you don’t understand” it might feel as though there isn’t anything positive to look forward to, but it is best to remember that every situation is temporary and if you embrace the good parts even if they look small and far fetched. Once you start to focus on those and change your perspective you will start see things differently. I especially feel if your kids ( if your a mom ) see you doing this they will too know that whatever life throws at them they can overcome it, and they will be okay and that is an important lesson for them to learn. Sometimes we keep things bottled up because we are embarrassed of what we are going through but if you maybe reach out to friends , family, even co workers you never know what someone may be going through and you may end up helping each other! I read this quote a while back…

” Never be embarrassed to struggle there is absolutely no shame in working hard to get where you want to be. God turns brokenness into BEAUTY” and it is so very true! If you stay in fear , embarrassed , and depressed you will never be able to achieve your goals because you will stay stuck in that broken mentality. Take some YOU time no matter how busy you are. Find a hobby, exercise, take care and love yourself so that you are prepared to deal with whatever comes 🙂

As a woman and mother it is important to recharge your mind , body and soul. Stay faithful , stay in prayer and remember your good enough to smash your goals big or small and come out of any situation better than you were before. GOD wants to bless you ! Please feel free to comment if you have any tips or helpful outlets that you have used that would help other readers who may be struggling.
